What this site collects, what it does with it, and how to ask for a change.

The short version
Hunters can use the map and the pilot list without signing up or giving us anything. The site counts visits with two analytics tools, and it keeps the details pilots send when they apply to be listed. Nothing is sold.
Who the pilots are
The Missouri Drone Deer Recovery Network is a directory of independent pilots. They are not employees or contractors of the network. When you call a pilot, you are dealing with that pilot directly, and anything you tell them is handled by them, not by this site.
Analytics
- Plausible. A self-hosted Plausible instance at analytics.dronelaws.us counts page views, the referring site, approximate country and device type. It sets no cookies and does not track you across other websites.
- Google Analytics 4. The site also uses Google Analytics (measurement ID G-6R380DFJB0) to see which pages are useful. It sets first-party cookies and records the pages you view, how you arrived, your device and browser, and an approximate location worked out from your IP address. Google handles this data under its own privacy policy. To opt out, block cookies for this site in your browser settings or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works the same either way.
Other services the pages load
The map tiles come from OpenStreetMap’s tile servers and the fonts come from Google Fonts. Your browser fetches them directly, so those services see your IP address and browser details when a page loads. Like most websites, the server also keeps standard request logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security and troubleshooting.
Pilot sign-up form
The join form is the only form on the public site. When a pilot applies, the site stores what they enter: name, business name, phone number, email (optional), home town and state, counties they cover, website or Facebook page, drone and camera, whether they hold a Part 107 certificate, and any message. It also stores the IP address the application came from, to fight spam. A copy is emailed to the network admins so they can review it.
If an admin approves the application, these details become public on the map and in the directory: the business or pilot name, phone number, home town and state, counties covered and website. The map pin is placed from the home town. Email addresses and admin notes are never shown on the site.
Changes and removal
Pilots can ask to have a listing corrected or taken down, and anyone can ask what the site holds about them or ask for it to be deleted. Contact the admins through the Facebook group or the network’s Facebook page.
Who runs the site
The site is built and hosted by Drones Inbound LLC, and the map is kept current by the Facebook group admins. This page will be updated if anything above changes. The date at the top shows the last change.
